Wild Bamboo
Wild Bamboo is a local Fast Food outlet in Iloilo City, Philippines. They serve “Authentic Japanese Food that’s Fast, Fresh and Tasty.” Wild Bamboo is owned by young entrepreneur Paolo Treñas. He opened Wild Bamboo and he first opened in November of 2014. Paolo wanted to boost awareness about his business and rebrand it. He came to Project Assistant for a new logo and social media marketing.
We started off the logo design process by asking the client a few basic questions about his business, target audience and how he envisions his logo. He found that the logo he was currently using at the time was too simple and not eye catching. He envisioned the new Wild Bamboo logo to be more relatable with a mascot but still retain the Wild Bamboo typography.
Our team got brainstorming and we thought a sumo wrestler would be great for Wild Bamboo since they are the heroes of Japanese sports and are known for their extremely filling diets. Our graphic designer came up with several versions of the sumo mascot. Below we’ve featured a few of our designs.
Once the new mascot for the logo was selected, we got down to work with the social media marketing. We created and scheduled post content for both Facebook and Instagram. A majority of these were digital meal posters which features Wild Bamboo’s best selling dishes. We also kept the feed interesting by posting interactive quizzes, blog articles and fun facts about Japanese food. Once we got the audience interested, we launched our Facebook ads.
The paid ads we did for Wild Bamboo were for page likes and engagement. We ran them simultaneously with special contests and promotions Wild Bamboo was offering at the time. As a result, the Facebook page gained over a thousand likes and over a ten thousand engagements. We also conducted outreach campaigns with various local food bloggers to feature Wild Bamboo’s authentic Japanese cuisine. During the campaign period, Wild Bamboo garnered Trip Advisor’s number one spot for “Places to Eat in Iloilo.”
Wild Bamboo’s project as only a short one, we definitely gave the brand the boost it needed. We created awareness, a local following and an online presence that was felt by Wild Bamboo’s target audience.
