Common Core was created by Triumph Learning to support the educational needs of parents, teachers and education administrators as they relate to the Common Core State Standards. They needed a site to dispense vital, practical and hands-on information in the form of free downloadable materials that guide parents and help them contribute to their children’s classroom success.
Common Core’s website was designed and developed to be a content-rich platform. The design focuses on highlighting the learning tools available on the site. Images and illustrations were used to incorporate an educational theme. As for navigation and functions, such as downloading content, had to be seamless. We made sure the site could handle the large amount of data and still perform fast by optimizing page speed. We also created custom post types for the different categories and fields.
The site offered content that was free to download but not everything could be accessed by the general public. We created a member’s portal for users to sign up to Common Core and subscribe to email updates about additional educational content and news. This also served as a lead capture tool for their future email marketing.
Triumph Learning later decided to discontinue the Common Core site and instead, integrate it into their main site triumphlearning.com. A separate site dedicated to homeschooling was later created. Both sites continue to be maintained and developed by Project Assistant.
